They are seeking a full-time, temporary Water Resources Engineering Intern to join their team in Jersey City, NJ, where the intern will contribute to various projects focused on water infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship in the field.

Responsibilities
Contribute to a variety of water engineering and modeling tasks and gain exposure to coding and tool development in the fields of hydraulics and hydrology, focusing on Python-based solutions
Gain a foundational understanding of water resources engineering principles, including data management and analysis
Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis
Support project management activities, including developing work breakdown structures, updating Schedules, managing project budgets, preparing invoices, drafting task orders and tracking project progress
Develop the ability to make responsible and ethical decisions that effectively address and support our clients' challenges
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Domestic and international travel, when necessary
Qualification
Required
Actively enrolled in an ABET-accredited Water Resources, Civil Engineering, or related Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program, with anticipated graduation dates of 2026 and 2028 (Junior and Senior in college)
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools
Effective time management, written communication skills, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, efficiently balance multiple concurrent tasks, responsibilities, and commitments
Collaborative and inclusive mindset
Willingness and desire to work outdoors
Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
Ability to pass a pre-employment screening
Preferred
Experience with commercial software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-MetVue, or HEC-LifeSim Software, a plus
Prior internship experience in a consulting engineering firm or municipal work environment, a plus
