Strategic and Business Development Sr. Manager - Strategic Systems

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead a strong and diverse team supporting exploration and business development within the Strategic Weapons and Nuclear, Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems domain. The role involves defining business strategies, developing customer relationships, and managing proposal efforts to support growth objectives.

Responsibilities

Lead a strong and diverse team supporting exploration and business development within the Strategic Weapons and Nuclear, Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems domain
Define business strategies, competitive landscape, and investment needed to bid and win opportunities in 2026 and beyond
Leverage GDMS Strategic Mission Systems core competencies in strategic weapon systems, computer and communications electronics to develop customer and industry relationships, win strategies, and capture plans
Provide oversight to all proposal efforts, execution of new business and independent R&D funds, and ultimately manage one or more CRAD/BAA programs as awarded to GDMS
Ensure that all project activities are compliant to contract and GDMS common process requirements, and performed and completed in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner without compromising the quality of the deliverables
Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance
Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs
Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS' services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations
Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire
U.S. citizenship is required
Excellent understanding of strategic deterrence mission and its technical and integration challenges
Excellent understanding of the Nuclear Command, Control and communication mission and its technical and integration challenges
Expertise and understanding of strategic deterrence community mission operations, strategic systems, and contractor industrial base
Strong knowledge of DOD acquisition process and policy
Relevant past experience managing programs, project planning, monitor and controls in accordance with company policies, common processes, and contract terms and conditions
Expertise in assessing market and opportunity sets, developing business and capture strategies, and leading technical teams to position and win new opportunities
Development of accurate and complete Bid and Proposals and ROMS that are responsive to customer requests and achieve business objective
Demonstrated ability to engage and influence across multiple customer organizations in support of engineering, analytical and operational objectives
Strong communications skills, oral and written, with senior personnel

Preferred

Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership behaviors, effective communications skills, a sophisticated understanding of budget management and the ability to successfully manage, grow and evolve GDMS programs
The Manager position requires a bachelor's degree with five or more of management experience in a related field or demonstrated leadership to meet the managerial expectations
