4+ years expTapio is an established and growing renewable energy developer with an active portfolio of C&I and utility-scale solar and storage projects across the U.S. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead design and engineering efforts across solar PV and battery storage projects, bridging early-stage development, permitting, and construction handoff.

Responsibilities
Lead electrical design for solar and BESS systems: site layouts, one-lines, stringing plans, equipment specs
Prepare and review plan sets (30%, IFP, IFC) and ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, UL, and AHJ standards
Coordinate with Engineers of Record (EORs), utilities, and EPC partners
Support electrical studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination) and select major equipment
Contribute to internal engineering standards, QC processes, and process improvements
Qualification
Required
MUST HAVE ILINOIS PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER (PE) LICENSE
B.S. in Electrical Engineering
PE license required (Illinois or ability to obtain quickly)
4–7 years' experience in electrical design for solar PV and/or BESS projects
Strong grasp of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and utility interconnection standards
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Helioscope, PVsyst, and other design tools
Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
