Austin New Product Introduction Manager

Responsibilities
Own the NPI Process: Manage the day-to-day operations of the NPI process within the Austin Business Center, ensuring smooth and efficient product introductions
Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between program teams, factory leadership, and Supply Chain Planning, specifically for Pilot Line execution
Inspire and Develop a High-Performing Team: Provide direction and mentorship to manufacturing staff, including Operators and Tech Ops Engineers assigned to NPI projects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and talent development
Champion Design for Manufacturability: Collaborate with Product-to-Launch (P2L) and New Product Engineering to address systemic design issues and lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis for Pilot Line challenges
Drive TTP Excellence: Ensure strict adherence to Transition to Production (TTP) processes across all programs, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices
Shape the Future of Manufacturing: Partner with Production Product Stream managers on factory, program, and capital improvements, working with the Technology Roadmap to ensure manufacturing readiness
Align Technology Roadmaps: Collaborate with Engineering and Operations leadership to build alignment between Technology Roadmaps and Manufacturing roadmaps, driving innovation and efficiency
Manage Resources & Budgets: Oversee production schedules, department/program NRE budgets, staffing, and capital purchases, ensuring efficient resource allocation. Develop and manage Operations NRE/TTP Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for prototypes and compliant builds
Lead Critical Reviews & Decisions: Lead Pilot Line Corrective Action Board (CAB) meetings to drive actions for design improvements and ensuring product quality
Maintain Documentation Compliance: Ensure all Pilot Line-specific documentation adheres to Enterprise Standards (ES) command media requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Manufacturing
Recommended 10+ years Manufacturing or Engineering experience including experience transitioning products to production
Must demonstrate the ability to lead a portfolio of teams of people with mixed skills: program facing, factory facing, technical engineers and touch labor
Ability to translate issues and concerns to a summary level for Leadership review
Ability to analyze data and direct root cause, corrective action teams
Proficient at identifying, analyzing and developing mitigation plans for risks
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis
Preferred
Masters degree in Engineering, Management or Business
Executive presence and presentation skills
Active secret clearance with special access clearances
