Responsibilities

Plan with the Life Readiness Pathways Team to develop programming aligned to the 2045 Strategic Plan (Wehe ke Ala)
Support the design and implementation of programming that helps youth develop as learners, with an emphasis on hands-on learning and mentorship
Create courses to fit in a diverse selection of learning offerings that include opportunities to work towards high school equivalency, college preparatory, and “moonshots,” designed to encourage kamaliʻi creativity, critical thinking, and personal growth
Co-develop curriculum that is strengths-based, culturally relevant, and aligned to academic outcomes within educational systems
Integrate Native Hawaiian practices and concepts to expand cultural identity and local perspectives while connecting youth to other indigenous/Pasifika and global communities
Collaborate with Life Readiness Pathways Team to develop, manage, and track program outcomes related to education, academic achievement, and strategic plan goals
Support contracted facilitators, mentors, and industry professionals delivering Life Readiness programs
Support Learning Design manager and Life Readiness team in delivering programming
Work collaboratively with the Learning Design Manager to develop data collection processes that provide regular, actionable feedback from participants to inform program design and report to Research & Evaluation
Work collaboratively with program leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and supervision of all program spaces
Provide program coverage as necessary
Provide ongoing support for program teammates
Maintain strong relationships with local and national partners and serve as a liaison for partnership implementation
Identify and cultivate, in collaboration with teammates and Community Resources team, relevant community partnerships
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends in youth services and performing arts, ensuring that community initiatives and programmatic strategies are aligned with current needs and environment
Collaborate with Life Readiness Pathway Team on program planning, budget development, revision, and evaluation
Provide transportation as needed for organization related business, such as driving staff, beneficiaries and/or families to assigned destinations
Participate in continuing education and training opportunities for professional development
Contribute to the Trust’s success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improve team and organizational results

Required

Bachelor's degree in education or relevant field
Minimum 3-5 years teaching young people (preferably Native Hawaiian youth, preferably in science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics)
Valid driver's license, clean traffic abstract
Able to work evenings, Saturdays, and holidays when required
Able to work independently and on a team with a demonstrated balance of leadership and collaboration skills
TB clearance

Preferred

Master's degree in education or relevant field
