Quality Improvement Specialist
Vaco by Highspring is a nonprofit organization serving children and families in Los Angeles, seeking a Quality Improvement Specialist to support their Child and Family Resource Center program. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with LA County Department of Mental Health standards and internal policies while building quality assurance processes.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with LA County DMH to ensure compliance with State standards
Audit clinical documentation for Medi-Cal, Short Doyle, and EPSDT compliance
Conduct spot checks in Welligent
Prepare for State Audit Reviews and LA County DMH Program Reviews
Generate monthly compliance and quality reports
Provide QA/QI feedback to staff and support new hire documentation training
Monitor HIPAA compliance and clinical risk standards
Partner with Program Manager and Clinical Supervisors to address service delivery gaps
Support data collection and program evaluation efforts
Participate in Quality Improvement meetings internally and with DMH
Qualification
Required
Minimum 3 years of mental health services experience
Direct LA County DMH experience required
Strong knowledge of Medi-Cal documentation standards
Strong Excel and reporting skills
Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in an evolving program
Preferred
Master's degree highly preferred (MSW, MFT, Psychology, Counseling or related field)
Experience with Welligent or EXYM software systems preferred
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
