Artemis Mission Development Manager
NASA Headquarters is seeking an Artemis Mission Development Manager to lead and integrate all development aspects of assigned Artemis missions. The role involves working with various technical and programmatic teams to achieve mission objectives safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities
Responsible for mission definition and integration, mission-specific utilization and logistics definition and allocation, integrated mission schedule management, and resolution of mission specific issues. Maintains flight rules cognizance and serves as a core member of the Mission Management Team (MMT) on behalf of Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD) and in partnership with stakeholders
Provides executive advice, leadership and expertise for the integration of hardware, software, risk acceptance and any associated impacts to other programmatic and/or mission interdependencies for assigned Artemis missions
Serves as the lead agency coordinator for the technical specifics for the assigned Artemis flight and mission duration
Provides mission management expertise, coordinating all requirements closeout, coordination of risk buy-off, deviation to mission requirements, etc
Leads and advises on Artemis mission development functions across the agency. Advises on the integration and interdependencies of the programs (Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, Exploration Ground Systems, Gateway, Human Landing System, Extravehicular Activity Spacesuits, surface systems and follow-on capabilities), and how those interdependencies impact Artemis Mission requirements and mission success
Works with Deputy Associate Administrator (DAA) for the Moon to Mars Program as well as the M2M and ESDMD management teams, Program Managers, M2M and program integration, and operations leads, and Chief Engineers across the ESDMD portfolio to develop Artemis missions in conjunction with the programs, as well as SOMD and other government agencies for key mission functions, assets, and resources
Has the authority to act on the behalf of the M2M DAA to utilize and integrate products from the programs, integration, and operations leads, to execute the Artemis manifest and mission on time and within budget
Leads critical path schedule management for the mission working with the programs and ground flow management teams
Leads mission specific reviews or mission specific deltas to common reviews, as outlined in programmatic documentation. Ensures all external stakeholders (contractors, other Federal Agencies and International Partners) are prepared to provide all required mission support and have signed off on any and all requirements to enable the specific Artemis mission at hand
Serves as an Agency key spokesperson to News Media regarding assigned Artemis mission status (pre-launch), in space, and following splashdown in the Pacific Ocean
Qualification
Required
Candidates must be a recognized subject matter expert with at least 1 year of directly related experience equivalent to the GS-15 level in Program/Project Management, Systems Engineering, Safety, and/or Mission Integration in order to make technical and programmatic decisions on integration of complex multi element human spaceflight missions
Such experience includes leading diverse programs, technical authority, and contractor teams, as well as experience in schedule management, making critical mission-specific decisions with limited information in a timely manner, and packaging concise effective communication to stakeholders

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major study in engineering, physical science, mathematics, life sciences, computer science, or other field of science
An official transcript will be required if you are selected
The individual selected will be required to file an 'Executive Branch Personnel Financial Disclosure Report' (OGE-278e) within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on
Successful completion of a background investigation commensurate with the risk and sensitivity level of the position
Successful completion of random drug screening may be required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by the position
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
Must meet qualifications requirements by the closing date of this announcement
