Equipment Servicer
The USAJOBS is seeking an Equipment Servicer for the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System, where the incumbent will maintain and repair various mechanical equipment and systems. Responsibilities
Maintains and repairs all non-plumbing/piping, non-plumbing/piping, non-HVAC mechanical equipment and systems throughout the medical center including but not limited to: trash and laundry chute systems, laundry cleaning and preparation systems, food preparations systems, mechanical beds, hydraulic systems, and a variety of mechanical and hydraulic equipment items and systems throughout the medical center
Maintains and repairs all mechanical engineering support systems such as compressed air systems, vacuum systems, various pumps, and similar devices supporting vital patient care activities throughout the medical center
Performs electric arc welding and acetylene torch cutting in the maintenance and repair of the above described systems
Fabricates mechanical parts and devices to accomplish a maintenance and repair task
Performs preventive maintenance and periodic inspection of all the above described systems and equipment as called for by manufacturer's literature

Works from scaffolds, ladders and hard to reach places
Work is performed in dirty, dusty, noisy, greasy, wet, hot, and cold environments
Incumbent is exposed to the possibility of burns, cuts, bruises, and electrical shock
