Responsibilities

Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT system investments
Responsible for both the configuration and operation of system tools used to manage the Microsoft Windows desktop infrastructure, application packaging, and desktop compliance
Monitors system performance for accuracy, efficiency, and recommends technical upgrades
Provides technical advice, guidance and informal training to both coworkers and customers
Acts as primary point of escalation for Office of Information Technology (OIT's) Direct Services team of nine when technical issues exceed their scope of knowledge or skill set
Lead teams of two or three member in support of OIT project efforts

Required

High school diploma, GED or equivalent and eight (8) years of experience in the field related to the position
OR Associate's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related discipline and six (6) years of experience in the field related to the position
OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline and four (4) years of experience in the field related to the position
OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, a related discipline and two (2) years of experience in the field related to the position
Valid State of Alaska Driver's License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire
Satisfactory Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check within 30 days of hire
If selected for hire, appointment in this position requires Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) security clearance and access within thirty (30) days of hire
If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon the submission of a current copy of the applicant's Alaska Driver's License, and a current (dated within 30 days from date requested) copy of his/her Department of Motor Vehicle driving record, including a driving record from previous states, if the Alaska Driver's License was first issued within one year prior to application, documenting an acceptable driving history
