Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and update dashboards to support management reporting, providing clear insights into financial performance
Assist with comprehensive analysis of USGAAP and statutory accounting results, identifying key trends and drivers, and preparing commentary for stakeholders
Support the development of detailed accounting models for reinsurance transactions and contribute to the preparation of accounting conclusion memos
Create settlement files using data from administrative systems, ledgers, and data lakes, and initiate cash settlements to ensure accurate financial reconciliation
Execute journal entries, verify ledger results, and ensure timely completion of the financial close process, addressing complex reinsurance accounting activities
Research and assist in implementing new statutory and GAAP accounting guidance to maintain compliance and enhance reporting accuracy
Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency and adding value to the team’s functions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
At least four years of experience in public accounting or a large, sophisticated corporate environment
Experience working with accounting systems and ERP tools such as Excel, SAP, Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx
Strong analytical capabilities
Attention to detail
Ability to interpret complex financial data effectively
Prior experience in statutory and GAAP accounting
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
Preferred
A CPA or progress toward obtaining one is preferred
Familiarity with internal controls and remediation efforts will be considered advantageous
