The State of Alaska's Division of Insurance is recruiting for a Program Coordinator 2 located in Juneau. This role will serve as a subject matter expert in state flexibility waivers under the Affordable Care Act, collaborating with various stakeholders to manage Alaska’s Section 1332 waiver proposal and improve access to health insurance for Alaskans.

Responsibilities

Function as a subject matter expert in state flexibility waivers under Section 1332 of the Affordable Care Act
Collaborate with internal staff, staff of other agencies, key vendors and stakeholders in order to manage the day to day details around the coordination of Alaska’s Section 1332 waiver proposal
Provide public outreach, support during the legislative session, and policy development that will improve access to high quality, affordable health insurance for all Alaskans

Required

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving
Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance
Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals; causes change
Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes
Knows the organization's mission and functions, and how its social, political, and technological systems work and operates effectively within them
Training from an accredited college or university in any field and/or progressively responsible professional experience developing, planning, coordinating, and implementing a program, project, business, organization, or major components of a program, including having administrative authority over the program/project funding, staff, and/or overall operations
Knowledge of methods and procedures for processing direct and reimbursable program funds
Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements
Knowledge of various types of insurance, insurance regulations, claims processing, examination, adjudication, or adjustment
Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, legal practices and documents, Government regulations, Executive orders, agency rules, Government organization and functions, and the democratic political process
