Responsibilities

Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with local retail stores, supermarkets, and food retailers, with an emphasis on small to medium yielding donors
Serve as a primary point of contact for Community Partners by responding to calls, questions, and compliance-related concerns in a timely and professional manner
Serve as a point of contact for retail store staff by addressing store-level questions or concerns and coordinating with the Retail Compliance Coordinator when issues require escalation
Support effective communication between FARSB, retail stores, and Community Partners to ensure program expectations are clearly understood and upheld
Conduct onboarding and retraining for new and existing Community Partners and partner representatives
Assign Community Partners to retail locations and ensure partners understand program requirements, food safety standards, and operational expectations
Provide ongoing technical assistance to support compliant and effective food rescue operations in collaboration with Partner Relations Coordinators
Support the implementation and reinforcement of food safety and food handling protocols in coordination with Retail Compliance staff
Conduct regular retail site visits to provide support, reinforce expectations, and observe compliance with program standards
Review, assist with conversion, and ensure timely submission of monthly retail poundage reports
Maintain accurate program records by updating databases and ensuring partner files remain current
Support accurate tracking of retail rescue activity to meet internal reporting and compliance requirements
Coordinate group, individual, and community food drives, ensuring donated food is delivered to or picked up by the appropriate participating partner sites
Represent FARSB at meetings, events, and partner engagements to increase awareness of food rescue efforts and community needs
Participate in trainings, workshops, and conferences to support continuous improvement of partner relations and program operations
Work closely with the Retail Compliance Coordinator to match appropriate Community Partners with one-time and ongoing retail donation opportunities
Collaborate with the Partner Relations team to support overall retail rescue program goals
Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Rescue and Procurement Manager or Partner Relations Director

Required

One or more years of experience in retail grocery, food service, food recovery, logistics, community outreach, or a related field
Experience working directly with external partners, vendors, or community-based organizations
Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and field-based responsibilities with minimal supervision
Strong customer service and relationship building skills, particularly in partner-facing or public-facing roles
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially related to reporting and recordkeeping
Comfort conducting site visits, trainings, and partner onboarding in both individual and group settings
Ability to learn and apply food safety standards, compliance requirements, and program procedures
Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to shift between field work, administrative tasks, and problem-solving
High school diploma or equivalent required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Extended periods of sitting at a desk on a phone and computer
Indoor office/warehouse environment with moderate noise at the food bank location
Ability to travel to sites, as needed, throughout the Riverside and San Bernardino County area
Site visits may require standing and moderate walking
Valid driver's license and insurance
