Responsibilities
Directly managing the electronics engineering team, including goal-setting, performance management, hiring, onboarding, and career development
Owning delivery and outcomes for all electronics programs, including schedules, scope, and cross-team coordination
Setting technical direction and engineering standards in partnership with senior engineers (without acting as the primary designer)
Prioritizing work across multiple concurrent projects and ensuring resources are aligned with company goals
Leading design reviews and readiness reviews to ensure quality, reliability, and manufacturability expectations are met
Identifying technical, schedule, and organizational risks early and driving mitigation plans
Partnering with production and QA to ensure smooth transitions from development to manufacturing
Establishing and improving processes for documentation, testing, production handoff, and post-deployment support
Communicating progress, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to company leadership
Qualification
Required
A background in electrical or electronics engineering, with enough prior hands-on experience to evaluate designs, risks, and tradeoffs
3+ years of experience managing and developing engineers, including hiring, performance management, and career growth
A track record of leading electronics teams through complex hardware programs and delivering results on real timelines
The ability to set direction, establish priorities, and align team execution with company goals
Strong engineering judgment and the confidence to guide technical decisions without being the primary implementer
Experience taking electronics systems from early development through production and sustained deployment
Clear and direct communication skills, including the ability to surface risks early and keep leadership aligned
Comfort operating in a fast-moving, in-office, hardware-focused environment where clarity and follow-through matter
