Experience Work/Global Outreach Developments International/Event & Hospitality Assistant
Global Outreach Developments International is a community service organization dedicated to addressing the specific needs of designated neighborhoods. The Event & Hospitality Assistant will partner with the organization to gain valuable experience in event planning, assisting with logistics, setup, hospitality, and execution for various events while developing an understanding of guest needs.

Responsibilities
Enhance and prepare program and event spaces through decorations, photos, signage, floor plans, and overall hospitality to ensure guests and participants feel welcomed
Organize rooms by setting up, tearing down, cleaning, and rearranging spaces for multiple programs. Responsibilities include maintaining snack and drink stations, supporting daily cleaning needs, and contributing to immersive setups for weekly Workforce Gauntlet Challenges
Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing elements of events throughout the seven-week project —including activity stations, program layouts, and logistical needs for community gatherings and youth camps
Help design, prepare, and facilitate hospitality for the Final WorkWell Showcase with 100+ attendees, as well as assist in the production and set up of end-of-summer performances and other program events
Organize and distribute food to event participants, participate in meal preparation for youth programs, and maintain daily snack/drink areas to support program operations
Manage inventory, organize supplies, and create wall displays, posters, and other visual elements that enhance events
Qualification
Required
Ability to stand, walk, or move around event and program spaces for extended periods during setup, activities, and teardown
Capacity to lift, carry, or move items such as chairs, tables, supply bins, or décor (typically 10–25 lbs.)
Comfort with bending, reaching, organizing materials, and performing light cleaning tasks and light manual labor to prepare event spaces
Ability to assist with setting up indoor and outdoor spaces
Preferred
Ability to work effectively in groups, rotate roles, and contribute to shared weekly goals while supporting peers in fast-paced event and program settings
Demonstrates strong skills in organizing spaces, managing supplies, following floor plans, and executing setup/teardown with care and accuracy
Shows interest or emerging ability in creating engaging visual displays, signage, and event layouts that enhance the atmosphere of program spaces
Exhibits warmth, professionalism, and a welcoming attitude when preparing spaces, serving meals, and hosting guests or participants
Capable of managing assigned tasks, following schedules, meeting deadlines for event preparation, and maintaining clean, safe, and functional environments
Communicates clearly with peers and supervisors, asks questions when needed, and helps troubleshoot unexpected needs during event setup and operations
Willingness to step into new roles, adjust to changing plans, and take initiative in completing essential tasks that support program success
