Responsibilities
Ships features with Product Management, Design, Science and Engineering
Co‑owns scenario goals; translates product requirements and customer scenarios into well‑scoped engineering work that meets quality, latency, and cost targets
Develops and evaluates prompts, task‑specific metrics, and evaluation datasets to assess large language model performance against defined customer scenarios
Leverages AI‑assisted development tools to improve engineering workflows, productivity, and code quality
Debugs and investigates issues surfaced through customer feedback, telemetry, and production usage of shipped features
Collaborates across engineering for code reviewing pull requests, reviewing design documents and techniques
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred
Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ year(s) experience in experience in coding in Python, Typescript, C#, Java or C++ + OR equivalent experience
At least 2 years of experience contributing to the development and deployment of live production software systems as part of a product team
At least 1 year of experience applying LLMs in customer‑facing or production scenarios
Experience leveraging the latest in AI/agentic coding tools, both through work experience and hackathons or personal projects
Experience contributing to full‑stack systems, including frontend, service, and backend components
Experience defining or implementing task‑specific evaluation metrics or datasets to measure model or feature performance
Experience working in rapidly evolving technical environments, evidenced by contributions across multiple technologies or platforms
Experience working across full stack components, including user interfaces, service layers, and backend systems
Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams using synchronous and asynchronous communication tools in a hybrid work environment
Experience developing task specific metrics and evaluation datasets
