Billing Coordinator III (Billing Specialist Subsidiary) - REMOTE

Labcorp is seeking a highly motivated Billing Coordinator III to join their Genetics Appeals team. This fully remote role is integral in working with health insurers to secure coverage and reimbursement on behalf of patients, while driving process improvements and supporting revenue recovery efforts.

Responsibilities

Research payer rejections and denials related to genetic testing claims
Produce a high volume of accurate and successful appeals to insurance carriers to secure payment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop best practices and resolve denial-related issues
Review payer medical policies to determine the root cause of denials
Consistently follow up with insurance carriers on outstanding denials and appeal statuses
Communicate professionally and concisely with clients via telephone, as needed
Participate in special projects that extend beyond day-to-day responsibilities and encourage creative problem-solving

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare billing, insurance/claims processing, and navigating payer portals required

Preferred

Experience working with Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), denial types, and insurance denial codes strongly preferred
Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, PPOs, and commercial payers strongly preferred
Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) experience strongly preferred
Experience with Xifin and CRM applications (e.g., Salesforce) preferred
Clear, concise, and professional verbal and written communication skills for interactions with payers, clients, team members, and leadership
Strong attention to detail with effective organizational skills
Ability to multitask and navigate multiple systems simultaneously
Adaptability to evolving responsibilities; able to follow SOPs while also troubleshooting and adjusting to unique situations
Ability to manage tasks independently with minimal supervision
Professional and courteous email communication standards
Strong work ethic with a commitment to improving patients' access to care
Enjoys problem‑solving in a dynamic, fast‑paced, and team‑oriented environment
