Responsibilities
Develops control and protection algorithms and firmware for electric motors and power converters
Performs modeling and simulation for the electric motors and power converters control development
Implements, tests, and troubleshoots control firmware
Establish system & sub-system level control requirements from functional specifications and application needs
Plans and performs control algorithms and firmware development and validation on HIL and lab
Creates technical reports and presentations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in developing and implementing control algorithms for electric motors and power converters, including academic or research experience
Minimum 2 years of experience with HIL modeling development and testing
Minimum 2 years of experience with DSP, microcontrollers, and standard peripheral components
Preferred
MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
Strong background in digital control and electric motor/power converter techniques (e.g., d-q transformation, P & Q control)
Experience in developing and implementing control for electric motors and power converters using auto-code generation tools (e.g., Simulink Coder)
Knowledge of real-time operating systems and digital signal processing
Familiarity with power electronics hardware
Working knowledge of HIL hardware and software
Ability to quickly learn new skills, technical knowledge, products, or industry
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering processes (e.g., DFMEA, 8D)
