Computer Scientist
Air Force Civilian Service is seeking a Computer Scientist to support the Air Force Materiel Command in Boulder, Colorado. The role involves providing technical leadership in computer science projects, ensuring project success through effective management and execution of development activities.

Responsibilities
Serve as a professional Computer Scientist with project management, execution, and operational responsibility in assigned area(s)
Provide technical leadership and management to ensure project/program success
Guide and evaluate the design and development activities of others
Provide engineering sustainment for MILSATCOM Protected Software Sustainment Projects
Support program office activities including requirements management and testing for the Global Positioning System and Command and Control System-Consolidated SMC workloads
Perform workload transition tasks for future 517th software space systems sustainment
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship
A Computer Science degree at the bachelor's level from an institution with an ABET accredited program or a closely related field is highly desired
This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use
Obtain & maintain a Top Secret security clearance
The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP)
Knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, and materials of professional computer science, and knowledge of other technical disciplines to effectively apply computer software, software systems and computer hardware architectural theories, principles, and concepts to areas of responsibility
Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization
Ability to research, evaluate, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies
