Responsibilities
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and execute research
Develop new models or apply state-of-the-art approaches as necessary to carry out novel research
Communicate research results and implications to relevant internal and external stakeholders
Advise the corporation on relevant scientific and technical matters
Identify opportunities to engage leading external researchers and groups
Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences
Engage with the broader research community to share findings, monitor external trends and communicate priorities
Qualification
Required
PhD in geoscience, engineering, economics or related disciplines
Strong background and demonstrated scientific excellence, including a record of external publication, in one or more areas of climate science
Experience developing and using earth system, energy system or integrated assessment models
Familiarity with how such approaches can be used to inform business or policy questions
Knowledge of state-of-the-art models and approaches in one or more areas related to climate and integrated systems
Ability to identify and engage leading external experts on global change research
Experience translating complex scientific information into digestible insights for non-experts
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders
Willingness to travel
Preferred
Postdoctoral experience in an academic, industry, or government setting
