Responsibilities
Planning, application programming and development, maintenance and support, application monitoring, and incident response
Partner with business and technical staff
Participate in related application development projects
Lead technical projects and initiatives
Serve as technical subject matter experts
Ensure that customer needs are met through reliable systems
Provide analysis, programming, testing, implementation, and ongoing production operational support for Agency customer facing applications including eServices, Online Business Registration, Modernized eFile, loading Modernized eFile data to a relational database, Application to Application gateway and related Java applications
Support critical taxpayer-facing applications within an on-call rotation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development
Demonstrated experience with Java
Demonstrated experience with Modernized eFile (MeF)
Demonstrated experience with Application-to-Application gateway
Demonstrated experience with loading data into a relational database
Hands-on knowledge and experience with at least one computer platform and knowledge of a broad range of programming languages
Knowledge of and experience with relational database management
Ability to establish and maintain effective, positive, and productive working relationships with peers, superiors, subordinates, and customers
Ability to learn emerging technologies
Documentation skills
Understanding of IRS1075 compliance issues
This position is required to work within an on-call rotation supporting critical taxpayer-facing applications
Preferred
Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to develop and configure software applications and tools to solve complex problems
