Responsibilities
Oversee and review property-level and corporate accounting across multiple entities
Ensure timely, accurate monthly closes
Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls
Identify and resolve issues before they reach leadership
Prepare and improve monthly financial reporting packages
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Translate financial data into clear insights for leadership
Provide financial clarity across acquisitions, lending, brokerage, and property management
Manage and support accounting staff (AP, AR, bookkeeping)
Improve workflows, close checklists, and reporting timelines
Implement scalable systems and best practices
Serve as the quality-control layer for the accounting function
Develop a deep understanding of the business
Gradually assume Controller-level responsibilities
Help design the long-term finance organization
Grow into the Controller role as the company continues to scale
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
2–3+ years of experience as an Assistant Controller
Strong knowledge of GAAP and multi-entity accounting
Experience reviewing and overseeing others' work
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Preferred
Experience in real estate, lending, or property management
Background in scaling or high-growth companies
Strong process-improvement mindset
