Sr. Solutions Architect - Data Engineering/AI
Maverick Technology Partners is seeking a Sr. Solutions Architect specializing in Data Engineering and AI. This role requires leading the design and modernization of enterprise data platforms while providing strategic advisory and client engagement in AI solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead and participate in sales engineering discovery sessions to understand customer needs, technical constraints, and business goals
Build and deliver client presentations, solution architectures, and demonstrations that clearly communicate data and AI concepts to both technical and executive audiences
Demonstrate technology and concepts using databases, analytics platforms, and AI solutions
Partner with sales and consulting practice managers to align scope of work (SOW) materials, estimates, and delivery strategies
Provide strategic advisory and consultative guidance on data and AI roadmaps, operating models, and platform selection
Function as a trusted analyst and advisor to clients, translating business challenges into actionable data and AI solutions
Support executive education by training and briefing senior leaders seeking to understand AI, data modernization, and their business impact
Assist with architecture, design, and implement enterprise data warehouses and analytics platforms for large-scale customers across:
Data warehouse modernization efforts migrating legacy databases to high-performance cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Supabase, Big Query, Fabric or similar
Design and optimize data pipelines, models, and architectures that support analytics, AI, and operational workloads
Design, prototype, and implement AI and LLM-based solutions, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and model orchestration
Act as a thought leader in Artificial Intelligence, advising clients on responsible AI adoption, governance, and real-world implementation strategies
Assist clients in discovering, defining, and prioritizing AI use cases aligned to their business objectives and data maturity
Provide architectural leadership across native cloud data frameworks, including:
Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, and Purview; GCP, Oracle Cloud
Qualification
Required
10+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering and Data Architecture
Proven experience designing enterprise data warehouses for large or complex organizations
Demonstrated success migrating legacy databases to modern, high-performance platforms (Snowflake, Supabase, Big Query, Fabric or similar)
Hands-on experience programming, deploying, or integrating LLMs and AI solutions
Strong expertise in cloud-native data platforms, particularly Azure and Microsoft Fabric, with deep proficiency in PySpark, SQL, and OneLake architecture for scalable data engineering
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to executive, business, and technical audiences
Understanding of managed services with the ability to lead the discovery & scoping for our sales & consulting teams and present managed services solutions across IT, Database & cybersecurity
Ability to travel to clients as needed - Mostly East Coast - 20-25%
Preferred
Experience with data governance and metadata management, including Microsoft Purview
Background in consulting, professional services, or sales engineering environments
Thought leadership demonstrated through presentations, whitepapers, blogs, or client workshops related to AI and data strategy
Experience aligning technical solutions with commercial models, SOWs, and delivery plans
Hands-on skillsets within Data Engineering & AI to support consulting teams as needed on new project launches and assist with sales cycle alignment on deliverables and scoping requests as needed
