2+ years expAgility Partners is hiring a Software Database Engineer 1 to support a Fortune 15 company’s SQL performance engineering team. In this role, you’ll help validate SQL performance on new hardware and software releases, detect regressions, analyze results, and collaborate closely with senior performance engineers.

Responsibilities
Execute SQL performance tests on new hardware and pre‑release builds
Identify, analyze, and report SQL performance regressions
Diagnose performance anomalies and assist developers in resolving root‑cause issues
Script and automate tasks using C, C#, or PowerShell
Generate clear and comprehensive reports based on test results
Participate in daily or twice‑daily scrum calls to share progress and surface blockers
Support system architecture reviews to ensure compatibility with established standards
Apply analytical and systematic approaches to workflow, planning, and technical challenges
Provide day‑to‑day technical support under the guidance of lead engineers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
2+ years of experience working with C, C#, and/or PowerShell
2+ years of experience working in Windows OS environments
2+ years of experience with foundational computer science concepts applied in real‑world engineering tasks
2+ years of experience with exposure to SQL performance testing, diagnostics, or related areas
Strong problem‑solving skills and analytical thinking
Clear, concise communication skills within technical teams
Ability to follow direction, demonstrate progress, and participate actively in scrum routines
