Responsibilities
Calculate enthalpies of reactions, power factors, pump head, and more to construct CAD models and process diagrams
After thorough research, balance competing requirements such as cost, throughput, and chemical compatibility to develop an efficient system
Manage a budget, communicate with vendors, and populate a bill of materials
Present and explain their design to a team of engineers and technicians, and incorporate their feedback to fulfill their vision
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering; junior or senior standing by fall 2026
Strong interest in chemical engineering
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to travel for in-person orientation and program kickoff as well as for final presentation at program completion
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
