Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain software applications and embedded systems for IVF medical devices
Implement algorithms, control systems, and user interfaces that enhance device functionality and user experience
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices in software engineering
Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with device hardware and ensure seamless operation
Develop and execute test plans, including unit tests, integration tests, and validation procedures to ensure software reliability and performance
Troubleshoot and debug software issues, providing timely resolutions and improvements
Create and maintain comprehensive software documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and compliance reports
Ensure software development processes comply with FDA regulations and ISO standards for medical devices
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, regulatory affairs, and clinical experts, to drive product development
Stay updated with the latest advancements in software technology and medical device regulations to incorporate innovative solutions into the product

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, with a focus on embedded systems or medical devices
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java
Experience with software development for embedded systems
Microcontroller and RTOS Experience
Peripherals Integration: I2C, SPI and CAN buses under the Yocto environment
Linux Kernel Customization
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and documentation
Knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO standards for medical devices is a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in the medical device industry, specifically with IVF technologies or similar medical devices
Experience with software integration for medical device hardware and user interface design
Experience in a startup environment with a track record of taking products from concept to market
Knowledge of agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)
