Quality Compliance Specialist
Caldic North America is a leading food ingredient distribution and solution provider. The Quality Compliance Specialist is responsible for developing and managing quality policies and procedures, overseeing quality control and assurance functions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Lead and support projects within Caldic, focusing on continuous improvement initiatives
Oversee QA and QC functions for Caldic North American co-manufacturing facilities
Oversee Caldic North America’s vendor and manufacturer approval and maintenance process; assist with supplier audits
Drive Total First Pass Quality (TFPQ), Review raw material and finished product non conformances and customer complaints and implement CI initiatives to address trends
Provides required updated documents and support to the Co-Manufacturing facilities to maintain good partnership. Maintain open communication with the co-manufacturers
Manage integration of quality programs between the suppliers and Caldic’ s quality systems
Provides support for quality control, quality assurance and regulatory team members with co-manufacturers and suppliers responsibilities
Oversee customer complaint investigations related to product quality and/or safety; liaising with the customer as required; ensure timely resolution to complaints related to co-manufacturers and suppliers
Member of the North America’s HACCP Teams, SQF Management Teams
Oversee/participate in monthly internal inspections at USA facilities (Elgin and UP) for HACCP and SQF programs
Analyze data to create accessible reports, allowing easy visualization of key information and trends to support decision-making and strategic actions. Provide regular reports for management reviews
Collaborate with production, operations, and other departments to implement quality process improvements and systems that enhance product quality and operational efficiency
Develop/manage expense budget
Travel between the facilities as required
Qualification
Required
BS in Food Science or related discipline
Minimum 5 years of QA/QC work experience in a food manufacturing environment
Working experience with HACCP programs, previous experience with SQF an asset
Working experience with regulatory or certification bodies such as FDA, Kosher, Organic
Working Experience/Strong knowledge or understanding of manufacturing operations, sanitation principals and pest control operations
Working Experience/Knowledge or understanding of regulatory requirements
Familiarity with North American regulatory and certification bodies: CFIA, FDA, Organic, NHPD, Kosher, etc
Strong organizational, time management and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
Proven leadership skills
Can work effectively in a team environment with little direct supervision
Valid driver's license
