Quality Assurance Quality Control Inspector
Newcomb & Boyd is a multi-discipline engineering firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and they are seeking a Mechanical QA/QC Inspector / Commissioning Agent. The role involves performing quality verification inspections and documentation review for mechanical and electrical equipment during the commissioning process, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
Responsibilities
Quality verification inspections and documentation review of the commissioning process for all mechanical and/or electrical equipment during Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 steps of commissioning as identified in the project commissioning plan, specifications, submittals and applicable codes and standards of the project. Deliverables include:
1. L1 FAT/FWT Reports
2. L2 Torque Logs
3. L2 Megger Reports
4. L2 Equipment Receiving and BOL Documentation
5. L2 Field Installation Reports
6. L3 PMS and BMS Point to Point Verifications
7. L3 Energization and/or Functional Test Reports
8. TAB Reports
Participate and utilize the software management system and the Project Share Site to post commissioning checklists, readiness evaluation reports, and other records as required by specification
Perform commissioning inspections, utilizing checklists or forms in the quality control software system. Inspections shall be performed at major milestones as requested by the PM. Inspections will include specifications and submittals projects; identification and documentation of all deficiencies related to applicable codes and standards
Assist in tracking and resolving open issues as needed
Qualification
Required
Ability to commit to 100% travel
Knowledge of the applicable project documents relating to the mechanical and/or electrical systems required to be commissioned is a plus
Prioritize effectively, have good follow-through, and practice self-implemented quality control measures
Ability to communicate well in writing, as well as verbally
A desire to develop their knowledge and grow
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Certificate/Diploma from an accredited trade school or county
Prior experience working in a mechanical construction or commissioning-based role
