Responsibilities
Provides direct patient care in accordance with the applicable scope and standards of practice, policies, values, and mission of SCA Health
Adheres to the SCA Health non-negotiable patient harm prevention policies and practices
Monitors and manages the patient and environment during care to maintain a safe environment, optimize outcomes and maximize available resources
Students that have met the required skills checkoffs within their clinical lab, may complete extended scope CNA tasks as is appropriate with facility policies and procedures
Participate in bi-weekly check-ins with school’s Clinical Partner Liaison and on-site facility clinical supervisor
Qualification
Required
HS diploma or GED
Must be enrolled in senior year of partner nursing school on track to graduate within the next 9-12 months; if the student withdraws or takes a leave of absence from the program, they will no longer be eligible to work in the facility as a Student Nurse Extern
Must be in good standing with nursing school; the clinical liaison must approve the job offer prior to the hire offer
Successful completion of Basic Life Support certification
Demonstrate basic knowledge and clinical competence by completing the basic skills checklist as outlined in the nursing school
