NEOGOV is seeking a new teammate for the Washington State Patrol's Electronic Services Division. This role is responsible for the design, configuration, installation, and management of the physical network infrastructure and WAN connections within WSP buildings.

Responsibilities

Designing, installing, maintaining, or supervising vendor work related to the physical network infrastructure within WSP buildings such as cabling, patch panels, network wall jacks, network equipment racks, network equipment in these racks and electrical power connections for above equipment
Performing the required infrastructure work or supervising vendors performing this work, to ensure the work performed meets the agreed upon office environment needs
Configuring all local network equipment inside WSP facilities so the desired physical network infrastructure matches the network software configurations
Monitor the operational status of mission-critical enterprise WAN, WLAN, and LAN network and VoIP circuits to all connected routers, switches, and appliances agency-wide
Designing, installing, or supervising vendor work related to the physical wireless infrastructure within a building such as cabling, wireless APs Placement, and wireless controllers
Performing the required infrastructure work or supervising vendors performing this work, to ensure the work performed meets the agreed upon office environment needs
Configuring all local wireless equipment inside WSP facilities so the 802.11 wireless network infrastructure seamlessly interfaces with the WSP wired network
Create, update, and maintain network documentation to include physical network infrastructure layout(s). network diagrams, and configurations
Responding to and resolving service interruptions, outages, processing change requests, and correcting problems which may occur within the statewide infrastructure
Oversees daily operations, identify, Prioritize, and resolve network and telecommunication interruption of service
Troubleshoot, diagnose, conduct root cause analysis and resolve client authentication, DHCP, 802.1 x port security issues across the network
Perform maintenance, add, moves, and changes of the network and VoIP telecommunications systems
Travel to WSP offices and locations around the state as necessary to assess, specify, estimate, install, configure, or troubleshoot any network related items
Assists in maintaining inventory of all IT network devices and VoIP devices in owned and used by Electronic Services Division
Update agency inventory control documentation, and process for disposition through the State surplus process
Manages inventory of network resources including routers, switches, wireless access points, and VoIP phones
Documents all network inventory in WSP's inventory management system in accordance with published instructions
Installing, configuring, testing new hardware to replace legacy equipment to meet the continuing needs of the Washington State Patrol such as router, switch, access points, and VoIP equipment
Remove legacy equipment and replace with new equipment and follows ESD Network Sections procedures for the surplus of legacy equipment

Required

High School Diploma or GED
Three years of IT Network & Telecoms - Entry experience in an enterprise organization utilizing a Cisco network environment, preferably in data transport and security
5 years of professional experience with each of the following: CISCO, Juniper, or Nokia routers and switches
5 years of professional experience with network protocols including Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), IP addressing schemes (IPv4 and IPv6)
5 years of professional experience with 802.11 protocols and standards
Must possess or obtain a valid Washington State drivers' license

Preferred

One year may be substituted for a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certificate
