They are seeking a Quality Technician at their Kaolin Clay production facility in Aiken, SC, responsible for performing routine lab tests to ensure product specifications are met and maintaining process control.

Responsibilities
Possess knowledge of plant specific lab test methods and perform them accurately as requested by supervisor
Accurately record data or enter into computer as required in a timely manner
Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion
Ensure instruments are calibrated and in good working condition
Possess knowledge of QMS procedures and maintain active participation in the QMS program
Authorize shipments to ship according to specifications
Follow non-conforming product procedures as required
Issue Certificate of Analysis (COA) as required for customers
Take samples as required in the plant or mine area
Troubleshoot problems to help determine root cause and initiate solutions
Work on back log samples as time allows so that results are obtained as soon as possible
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment at the beginning of each shift, as required
Adhere to all QMS procedures and documentation as applicable to position and department, and as required by ISO
Qualification
Required
Minimum high school diploma or GED
Previous experience in a laboratory setting a plus
Ability to learn quickly and perform work accurately with minimal supervision
Team Oriented
Strong analytical, computer and problem solving skills. Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Must be safety conscious and lead by example
Initiative in all aspects of job, continually looking for ways to improve the quality and safety aspects of Active Minerals
