Fabrication Technician II/III

Responsibilities

Perform shear, saw, and cutting operations with minimal supervision, including application of geometric concepts used in bump forming and layout
Operate laser cutting equipment with minimal guidance from a supervisor or Fabrication Technician III
Set up and operate press brakes to form metal components to engineering specifications
Independently operate shears, saws, punches, ironworkers, and rolling equipment
Select appropriate materials, dies, and tooling to meet production and quality requirements
Inspect parts for accuracy and conformance using calipers, protractors, and other precision measurement tools
Deburr and finish workplaces in accordance with quality standards and specifications
Label, scan, and track materials and parts according to ISO/CHL procedures
Perform minor maintenance on fabrication equipment and promptly report mechanical or tooling issues
Assist with receiving, staging, and general shop duties as needed
Operate fork trucks when certified and authorized, in accordance with company safety policies
Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and workflow goals
Follow all safety, quality, and ISO/CHL compliance procedures
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or GED required
2-4 years of metal fabrication experience
Proficient in press break operation and basic setup, including tooling selection and adjustment
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, shop orders, and work instructions
Strong math skills for bend deductions, angles, and forming calculations, including practical application of basic geometry concepts
Ability to independently perform operations on shears, saws, rollers, and ironworkers
Strong understanding of material properties, grain direction, and fabrication tolerances
Ability to work independently while consistently maintaining quality, safety, and production standards
