Senior/Principal Software Systems Engineer - PTC, Onsite
Sandia National Laboratories is the nation’s premier science and engineering lab for national security and technology innovation, and they are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join their Smart Manufacturing and Operational Technology team. The role focuses on supporting the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and tools for the Sandia Smart Factory initiative, collaborating with teams to analyze and integrate process data, and providing actionable insights to enhance manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Sandia Smart Factory team to implement and optimize smart manufacturing tools and technologies
Provide requirements and actionable insights based on domain knowledge to drive the vision for CAMINO and Smart Factory efforts
Analyze and integrate process data collection, equipment health monitoring, and operational technology solutions
Work closely with project management and software teams to ensure successful deployment and utilization of tools
Support training and knowledge transfer to Sandia teams, ensuring long-term sustainability of implemented solutions
Assess Sandia current state processes and future state options to provide a prioritized roadmap for Smart Manufacturing at Sandia
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field plus 5 years of experience, or equivalent (AS + 9 years or no degree + 13 years)
Experience with smart manufacturing and operational technology
Experience with process data collection, analysis, and equipment health monitoring
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Preferred
Experience with PTC tools, including Windchill, Kepware, and Thingworx
Familiarity with GE or Siemens tools and technologies
Knowledge of Connected Work Cell concepts and implementation
Previous experience in manufacturing environments or operational technology solutions
Ability to understand and adapt to new tools and technologies based on domain expertise
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
