IT Operations & Support Manager

Knik Tribe is seeking an IT Operations and Support Manager to oversee the organization's IT systems, networks, and infrastructure. The role involves managing technology operations, providing end-user support, and ensuring compliance with organizational goals and cybersecurity standards.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain servers, networks, endpoints, cloud services, and other IT infrastructure
Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user accounts
Monitor system performance and proactively address risks, inefficiencies, or bottlenecks
Ensure network and systems security, implementing updates, patches, and cybersecurity measures
Oversee data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
Provide hands-on support for escalated technical issues across all departments
Configure and maintain computers, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals
Lead troubleshooting efforts for system failures, software issues, and connectivity problems
Train staff in IT systems, cybersecurity, and best practices
Evaluate current business systems and workflows to recommend improvements or automation
Collaborate with staff and vendors to define system requirements, support integration, and implement upgrades
Create and maintain user guides, training materials, and system documentation
Track emerging technologies and trends to propose enhancements or replacements that improve efficiency
Serve as liaison with IT vendors, consultants, and service providers, manager contracts and service agreements
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, organization policies, and cybersecurity standards (e.g., HIPA, grant compliance)
Assist in IT budgeting, procurement, and resource planning under IT CIO direction
Participate in planning and executing system deployments, updates, and migrations
Perform other duties as assigned, supporting organizational goals

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, equivalent experience may be considered
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive IT Experience, including systems administration, network management, or IT support
Strong understanding of system architecture, networks, databases, and cloud platforms
Experience managing IT vendors, contracts, and service-level agreements
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
Must pass a state and federal background check in compliance with the 1990 Indian Child Protection Act
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Provide outstanding customer service to external and internal customers
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Database and all other office applications
Ability to work well and with a high degree of accuracy in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong technical and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations and make sound judgments
Ability to work independently and interdependently in a positive and productive manner
Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgement
Maintain confidentiality and securing sensitive information
Willingness to learn new skills and be a team player
