Responsibilities
Assist in developing and implementing the organization’s information system vision and strategic plans aligned with business goals
Conduct research and participate in beta testing of emerging systems and technologies to evaluate their suitability for CHRISTUS Health
Evaluate proposed system acquisitions, providing critical insights on compatibility, cost, resource requirements, and operational impact
Develop and recommend standards, procedures, and best practices for technology deployment and management across the enterprise
Lead infrastructure design efforts, including performance modeling and capacity planning, to ensure scalable and resilient systems
Provide expert guidance on architecture design initiatives, leading complex system design and implementation projects
Collaborate with technical teams to develop and enforce technical standards and ensure architecture flexibility to support evolving business needs
Participate in requirements gathering, discovery, and stakeholder engagement to develop comprehensive technical solutions
Evaluate new systems and system modifications, overseeing decision-making processes and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards
Act proactively in fast-paced environments, identifying opportunities and planning projects to optimize system performance and reliability
Maintain in-depth knowledge of clinical and business operations, translating workflows into effective technical architectures
Build and maintain strong relationships with management and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and collaborative problem-solving
Review and provide feedback on documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and completeness of technical specifications
Stay current with industry trends, certifications, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the organization’s IT architecture capabilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Architecture, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or four years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education
Minimum of five years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture within healthcare hospital systems environments
Extensive technical knowledge of healthcare IT systems including hospital information systems, databases, networks, and operating systems
Proficiency in local and wide area networking, network protocols, routing, and interoperability standards
Experience with system hardware/software administration, problem resolution, and system documentation
Strong understanding of Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse environments, data integration, and ETL frameworks
Knowledge of Big Data querying tools such as Hive, Impala, and Spark SQL
Project management experience with methodologies like SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and multi-tasking skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex solutions to diverse audiences, including executive leadership
