Senior Student Program Coordinator, Department of Mechanical Engineering

They are seeking a Senior Student Program Coordinator to coordinate and administer operations for recruitment efforts and outreach programs in the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering, supporting current and prospective students.

Responsibilities
Lead all departmental recruitment efforts, events, and initiatives at the undergraduate and graduate level (Elevate ME, Discover ME, Prospective Student Sessions, etc.). Manage direct communication efforts, working with prospective students and their families. Create, design, and coordinate new initiatives to improve recruitment and retention efforts. Plan and implement programs for freshman, transfer, internal transfer, and prospective students. Make presentations to various related audiences as appropriate
Assist Graduate Program Coordinator in the annual departmental graduate recruitment weekend event and initiatives at the graduate level
Prepare and present comprehensive reports on impact of student programming. Collect, analyze, and manage data on recruiting, retaining, and graduating students
Support the department with efforts to help student preparedness for internships and full-time employment. Implement and coordinate programs to enhance the students’ professional development
Attend meetings and participate in professional development activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the work to be performed
Five years of experience coordinating or administering a program
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
Applicant must be organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time
The position will require attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, and excellent judgment
A proactive team player with demonstrated strong communication skills, both verbal and written English, and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external constituents
Preferred
Prior experience coordinating a student program
Experience showing a high degree of initiative and good judgment
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Experience coordinating events and using web-conferencing services

Retirement Plan Eligibility: The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
