Responsibilities

Perform complex maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on elevators and chairlifts within WCPSS facilities, ensuring safety and operational efficiency
Monitor and oversee the construction, installation, and commissioning of new and replacement elevators and chairlifts, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff, supporting their development through training and knowledge sharing
Respond promptly to work orders related to elevator and chairlift issues, diagnosing problems accurately and implementing effective corrective actions
Replace or upgrade faulty or outdated elevator and chairlift systems to maintain safety and functionality standards
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and work logs to ensure compliance and facilitate future audits
Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, OSHA standards, and district policies to foster a safe working environment
Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and external agencies to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure quality workmanship
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
Stay current with industry developments, safety regulations, and technological advancements related to elevator systems

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
At least ten years of direct experience in elevator and chairlift installation and repair
Extensive knowledge of servicing various elevator manufacturers, including software updates
Valid Electrical License (SP-EL) or equivalent accredited credentials
Valid motor vehicle operator's license per North Carolina state requirements

Preferred

Factory certifications from one or more elevator manufacturers
