Responsibilities
Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of operational, compliance, financial, investigative, technology/information systems and other Risk projects for assigned organizational areas and functional activities throughout Mayo Clinic
Perform risk project activities as assigned, including but not limited to interviews/walkthroughs, auditing and monitoring, creating end-to-end process maps, performing risk and control analysis, and developing and documenting testing
Complete project assignments to ensure within time schedules while also meeting quality requirements and communicating any potential delays
Demonstrate professional oral and written communication skills
Conduct legal research; reviewing, organizing and analyzing documents; supporting contract and policy review processes; tracking and summarizing regulatory, litigation, compliance and risk management matters; maintaining logs or databases related to claims, disputes and other legal matters; and drafting or organizing correspondence, memoranda, reports, or reference materials
Participate in litigation and pre-litigation activities, claims analysis and broader risk management initiatives to develop an understanding of dispute resolution processes and organizational risk mitigation strategies
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in an associate, bachelor's, master's or graduate degree in Law, Healthcare, Business Administration, Information Technology, Information Security, Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice or other applicable field
Returning to their degree granting program in the fall of 2026
Desktop computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Familiarization with IT general controls, basic technical and accounting concepts/functions
Professional writing/communication skills
Exposure to data analysis tools
Ad-hoc travel may be required, as work activities warrant
Preferred
Currently attending Mitchell-Hamline law school
