Software Development Engineer, Deal Sourcing
PitchBook, a Morningstar company, is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their Product and Engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining backend services for the PitchBook platform, focusing on delivering exceptional customer experiences through product innovation.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain components of PitchBook’s platform services. Hands-on development will be an integral part of the responsibilities
Implement well-designed, testable, and efficient code that meets product requirements, coding standards, performance, scalability, reliability, and the organization’s goals and principles
Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and other internal stakeholders in an Agile environment
Provide technical guidance and perform code reviews for team members
Design and deliver on small projects end-to-end with little to no guidance
Provide support to applications in production in terms of deployment, troubleshooting, and incident management
Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field
2+ years of experience in Software Development or Engineering roles within a medium or large enterprise
2+ years of experience with Python, Go, or a similar object-oriented language
1+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Chef)
1+ years of experience with containers and orchestration platforms, including Kubernetes and Docker
Experience working within a development team in an Agile environment
Ability to be a team-player who can also work independently
Proficiency in RESTful API design
Proficiency in GitOps and creation/management of CI/CD pipelines
Experienced with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Experience with distributed, scalable microservices and event-driven architectures
Experience with data storage, replication, caching and search technologies, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Amazon RDS, GCP CloudSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, and Lucene/Solr
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem-solving ability
Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred
Familiarity with architecture trade-off analysis methods and domain-driven design preferred
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
