Responsibilities
Build and maintain web applications using Ruby 3.2+ and Rails 7+
Design data models and persistence layers using Mongoid (ORM)
Develop and manage containerized environments with Docker
Implement authentication and authorization using Devise and CanCanCan
Develop real-time features leveraging ActionCable
Ensure compliance with federal security standards
Optimize application performance and scalability
Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes
Qualification
Required
Ruby (3.2+) and Rails (7+) proficiency
Mongoid ORM experience
Strong Docker/containerization skills
Devise and CanCanCan for authentication/authorization
ActionCable experience in real-applications
Ability to provide code samples or walk through prior work during the interview
U.S. Citizenship is mandatory
Willingness to undergo Civil/Federal background checks
Strong understanding of secure coding practices and compliance standards
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Preferred
Vue.js
OAuth 2 and SAML integration
Front-end bundling with Webpack or Vite
Familiarity with FFI and Rust for performance-critical components
Experience with NIST, FedRAMP, or GovRamp security frameworks
Infrastructure automation using Chef or Ansible
