Software Development Associate

Responsibilities
Design and develop sonar software applications and scripts in a Linux environment using C/C++, Python, Bash, and CMake
Create supporting documentation for software and systems
Maintain and test new and legacy code
Participate in data collection exercises, data management, and analysis
Support the installation and testing of equipment in field locations around the world
Other related functions as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Demonstrate proficiency in Python, C++, Git, and SQL
Experience with the Linux terminal
Demonstrated ability to follow established coding and testing standards and the ability to define, document, and maintain complex software applications
Evidence of skills in the following areas: working with new technologies, being highly organized, planning and coordinating multiple tasks, effective time management, attention to detail, effective problem solving skills, using excellent judgment, working independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintaining a professional demeanor, working as a team member without daily supervision, effectively communicating with all groups of clients, working under pressure, accepting supervision and demonstrating regular/punctual attendance
US Citizen: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position
Preferred
At least two years of experience with Linux development
Experience with graphical user interfaces in a Linux environment
Frontend web experience
Familiarity with machine learning technologies
Familiarity with containerization for software development and deployment
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with at least a 3.2 in relevant coursework

Retirement Plan Eligibility: The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
