Responsibilities
As the Deputy Director, this role leads and directs the day-to-day operations of the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Policy and Planning and Legal Services functions, ensuring full compliance with regulations set forth by the U.S. Department of Labor and Maryland State laws to ensure the agencies goals are obtained
Provide oversight in the following activities for the UI Policy Team:
UI Management Model Standards
Administration
Internal Policy and Strategic Planning and Review Oversight
UI Legislation and Regulations Administration
Core Federal Performance Measures and USDOL Secretary Standards
DUI Agreements Management
Subpoena & PIA Request Management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Five years of experience in the public policy arena with an emphasis on policy development (either with a non-profit, state, or federal legislative office or regulatory agency)
Three years of supervisory experience managing or leading teams, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit, applying rules and regulations, or taking responsibility for developing policies or procedures
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in public policy science, public administration or a related field
