Responsibilities

Contributes to the Future of Integrated Water Infrastructure in the Pacific Northwest
Attending site visits
Calculating pressure, flow and capacities
Designing underground and above-ground piping systems
Selecting and specifying equipment
Coordinating with government agencies and other stakeholders
Preparing plans, specifications and estimated costs for project bidding and construction
Produces water and sewer infrastructure improvements
Force main design
Field data collection
Hydrant tests
Lift station draw down tests
Water distribution system, sewer collection system hydraulic modeling
Infrastructure sizing
Basic hydraulic calculations
Project layout
Prepare design reports
CAD/GIS drawings
Standard details
Report figures
Alternatives/economic analysis
Quantity takeoffs and estimates
Assemble project specifications
Provide construction inspection
Daily quantities and field reports
Understands and employs the following design codes: Governing state water/WW rules, AWWA standards (water), Uniform Fire Code, NFPA820 Fire Code for WW Facilities, 10 state standards
Responds to emails, attends meetings, and answers questions/comments with limited autonomy
Performs moderately complex technical work on projects for the assigned market sector
Operates with limited autonomy
Performs basic technical tasks with market sector with limited oversight
Performs quality control of basic deliverables
Eager to learn and expand skill set
Team player who follows the direction of others, asks good questions, retains information provided, and shares information with those less experienced
With guidance, predicts the level of effort for individual tasks and successfully deliver tasks within that level of effort
Monitors results on moderately complex projects
