Responsibilities
Architecting software systems, defining technical standards, making key design decisions and developing user-friendly front-end applications and documenting solutions
Scope out solutions to problems alongside business partners and data professionals with the intent of 'wowing' the customer and iterating solutions based on user feedback
Delivery of high-quality applications that can be maintained and improved upon in an efficient manner over time. Providing clear documentation for others will be critical. Your ability to execute quickly with a high degree of accuracy and quality will be paramount for this role
Responsibility for both the development and quality assurance of code, building reusable code and libraries for future use. Writing unit and integration tests as well as writing efficient code bases to ensure functional front-end applications
Identifying and resolving complex technical challenges with simple but elegant solutions
Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and helping communicate that to peers and mentees. Continuously improving skills, knowledge and the baseline infrastructure driving and influencing the way we do business
There may not always be a Jira story or micro-project manager. You must be able to prioritize and communicate with stakeholders without handholding
Qualification
Required
5+ years and in-depth knowledge of JavaScript Frameworks and libraries like JavaScript/Java (i.e. React.js, Angular, Vue.js, Svelte, JQuery etc.)
5+ years and in-depth knowledge of foundational web technologies (i.e. HTML, C#, CSS etc.)
5+ years with object-oriented design, web/mobile development and SQL/Python
5+ years with development and deployment tools (i.e. Code Editors/IDEs like WebStorm, Sublime Text etc., Version Control Systems like GitHub, Deployment Platforms like AWS, Azure)
BS or MS in software engineering, computer science, or a related field of study
Experience building responsive and visually appealing UIs with React and/or Angular or a similar solution for frontend development
Expertise with Database Management Systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle), including designing data models and writing complex queries
Proven track record of efficiently designing, developing, and releasing software products using Agile methodologies, both independently and collaboratively
Innovative in developing 'green field' products and solutions
Product related development experience within design and UX development
Excellent ability to self-organize and communicate in a remote work environment
Preferred
Working knowledge of cloud environments (Azure Preferred)
Experience with data modeling and relational database design and implementation a plus
Experience with knowledge graph technologies and techniques a plus
Experience in the Energy Industry a plus, particularly with utility management systems, smart meter data systems, or SCADA systems
