Part-Time Intern – (Water Resources - Information & Outreach)

Gwinnett County's Department of Water Resources is seeking part-time interns to assist in their Information & Outreach Division. The role involves developing communication materials, writing educational content, and supporting workshops and events.

Responsibilities

Assist with development of communications materials for water conservation and protection
Write educational articles for newsletters and other publications, as well as social media posts. Assist with writing and design/layout for brochures and flyers using Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
Assist Department of Water Resources staff with workshops and events, including compiling registrations, preparing materials, coordinating attendee sign-in, and display set-up/break-down
Review and coordinate updates to the Department of Water Resources website
Other duties as assigned

Required

Major in communications, journalism, or public relations
Available at least two weekdays per week between the hours of 8:00am and 3:00pm
Willingness to work occasional evenings and Saturdays
A valid driver's license and the ability to meet requirements to operate a Gwinnett County vehicle
Strong work or educational background and/or understanding of communications and public relations
Can quickly learn and confidently deliver new material
Well organized and dependable
Will represent Gwinnett County DWR with professionalism and courtesy
Comfortable with public speaking
Moderate physical activity including stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and the ability to lift 30 pounds
