Data Analyst Intern (Finance)

InternKrause Group is seeking a Data Analyst Intern to support their Finance function through data-driven analysis and insight generation. This role will involve working on financial modeling, transaction support, and performance analytics to inform investment decisions and evaluate growth opportunities.

Responsibilities
Collect, clean, and analyze financial and operational data across business units
Support financial modeling, valuation analysis, and scenario planning for potential investments or acquisitions
Assist in building and maintaining dashboards to track key financial and performance metrics (e.g., revenue, EBITDA, margins, growth trends)
Conduct market, industry, and competitive analysis to support M&A pipeline development
Support due diligence efforts by organizing, validating, and synthesizing data
Prepare data-driven insights and materials for internal stakeholders, including leadership and deal teams
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Accounting, or a related field
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel (required); experience with financial modeling strongly preferred
Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights
Understanding of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
Familiarity with valuation methodologies (DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions)
Experience working with large or complex datasets
Exposure to market research and competitive analysis
Preferred
Experience with financial modeling strongly preferred
Exposure to data tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus
Interest in corporate finance, private equity, venture investing, or M&A
