Intern UITS Business and Budget Operations
The University of Massachusetts is seeking a Business and Budget Operations Intern for their University Information Technology Services (UITS). This internship offers a unique opportunity for current UMass students to assist in budget planning and expense data analysis to inform decision making and improve processes.

Responsibilities
Assist with analysis of budget planning, utilization, and expense data
Will include compiling data from multiple sources into spreadsheets and creating pivot tables and charts to help with budget tracking and to inform process improvement
Analyze travel approval and travel expense data to assist in recommendations to improve planning, tracking, and process improvement in this area
Participate in planning meetings to assess and improve budget planning and tracking processes
Document and maintain datasets, ensuring accuracy and integrity
Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Help develop tools and processes to improve operational efficiency
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Current UMass student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study
GPA 3.0 or higher
Creative, eager to learn, motivated, and willing to take the initiative on assigned projects/tasks
Reliable and detail-oriented with a strong ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and possess good follow-up skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when interacting with staff
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Preferred
Knowledge of general budgeting and accounting practices preferred
