Responsibilities
General geographic data creation, editing, and analysis
Develop and manage enterprise GIS databases, GIS web maps, and GIS mobile apps
Production of figures for a variety of environmental reports
Query geographic data for information to be used in reports/proposals
Work interactively with data from CAD platforms and other geospatial data sources
Collaborate with other TRC staff to improve project methodologies and deliverables
Think critically about tasks, see the big picture, and problem solve
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science, or other related discipline
A minimum of 5 years GIS or related work experience
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work as a member of a larger GIS team to complete project tasks
Ability to keep abreast with current GIS technology
Ability to implement new technology with assistance from other members of the TRC GIS team
Ability to convert data from multiple sources and formats (CAD, GIS, GPS, text, etc.) to a common format or common schema
Ability to enter data into a database successfully with minimal errors
Ability to express graphically, usually through maps, the features within a GIS platform
Ability to utilize GIS applications to examine the locations, attributes, and relationships of features in spatial data through overlay and other analytical techniques
Ability to utilize GIS applications to build a GIS, i.e. data mining, geodatabase design, data conversion, etc
Ability to utilize GIS applications to perform advanced spatial analysis or data conversion or manipulation
Ability to translate client needs to solutions using GIS technology
Ability to configure and troubleshoot various GPS devices and mobile data collection applications
Ability to create map services and interactive web applications
Preferred
Able to use multiple programming languages to create useful applications or tools for interacting with data within a GIS
Able to apply SQL programming language to communicate with and manipulate databases
