IT Intern

Foundation Building Materials (FBM) is a leading construction materials distribution company seeking a motivated IT Intern to join their IT Department. This internship offers a Computer Science student hands-on experience in software development, process automation, and data workflows.

Responsibilities

Assist with the development and testing of internal tools using Python, Java, or JavaScript
Participate in the design and implementation of RPA workflows to automate repetitive business tasks
Learn and apply automation platforms such as Power Automate and UiPath
Support QA testing across various IT initiatives
Assist with documentation and version control practices
Use tools like Git to manage and track code changes
Work with APIs and data sources to support reporting, integrations, and dashboards
Attend daily stand-ups and sprint planning meetings following Agile/Scrum practices
Contribute to process improvement discussions and team brainstorming sessions
Collaborate with team members using tools such as Jira
Learn new technologies, tools, and frameworks as required for project work

Required

Currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Ability to think analytically and should be a problem solver
Ability to operate calmly in a high-pressure environment
Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or C++
Comfortable working with both front-end and back-end logic
Interest in automation, system design, or enterprise software development
Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and ask questions
Time management and ability to meet deadlines
