Operations Manager
TÜV Rheinland North America is a leading company focused on safety, quality, and innovation in various product sectors. The Operations Manager will oversee daily operations, manage financial forecasting, and ensure teams collaborate effectively to meet customer needs while adapting to new technologies and driving productivity improvements.
Public Safety
Responsibilities
Provide input to Long Rang Planning and execute global strategy with locally relevant initiatives
Maintain in depth understanding of regional industry related dynamics
Manage financial forecasting and staff utilization
Ensure teams collaborate and have the right processes and tools in place to best serve our customers
Oversee daily operations within region to accomplish operating goals, including budgeting, capacity planning, financial objectives, sales, operations and employee engagement
Identify and provide input on new initiatives and investment plans
Own productivity improvement plans
Champion an engaged, inclusive, and attractive work environment for TUV employees with a winning culture
Ensure the right talent is in place to support the needs of the business
Interact with key customers and other stakeholders across the region
Attend industry events and network with customers and key stakeholders
Engage in quarterly business reviews with big and complex customers
Support recruiting high-performing electrical inspectors and field certification specialists
Build bench strength aligned to growth projections
Adapt new technologies (such as automation, AI, etc) to support the customer service and productivity improvements
Develop succession planning
Qualification
Required
University Degree in Communication or equivalent work experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and/or experience
10+ years of related experience in laboratory testing and or inspection services
Understanding of ISO / IEC 17020. NFPA 790, NFPA 791 and related Canadian equivalents
Knowledge of customer and industry standards
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong technical problem solving and process improvement skills
Ability to work in stressful situations
Good time management and organizational skills
Complete knowledge of engineering principles techniques
Excellent leadership skills
