Cloud Automation Engineer, Confluent
Dayforce is a global human capital management company, and they are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Automation Engineer. In this role, you will design, build, and manage operational lifecycles of event-driven systems and cloud automation pipelines.

Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable event-driven architectures leveraging Kafka and related technologies
Lead the automation and optimization of infrastructure and application workflows across cloud platforms
Ensure operational stability and performance of event infrastructure including monitoring, alerting, and incident response
Collaborate with development, DevOps, and platform teams to define best practices around event messaging and cloud automation
Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines to support event services
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, middleware, and application issues in production and non-production environments
Contribute to architecture decisions and documentation regarding event infrastructure strategy
Qualification
Required
Must be a US citizen, permanent resident, green card holder of naturalized citizen
Ability to obtain US security clearance
5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or systems architecture roles
Strong expertise in Kafka (design, administration, monitoring, tuning)
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure and AWS
Solid understanding of event streaming, messaging patterns, and real-time data pipelines
Proficient in scripting and automation using tools such as Terraform and Python
Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a focus on reliability and observability
Preferred
Experience with schema management (e.g., Confluent Schema Registry)
Knowledge of microservices and service mesh architectures
Exposure to containerization and orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes
Certifications in cloud technologies or Kafka are a plus
